Southern District

Serious Injury Crash/DUI (UPDATE) - Edgewater

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to a vehicle crash on Mitchells Chance Road near Hamlet Club Drive. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2020 Chevrolet Pickup Truck crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2015 Ford Pickup Truck traveling in the opposite direction. The passenger of Ford sustained critical injuries and was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Neither driver was injured. The operator of the Chevrolet was arrested and charged.

Update (February 24, 2025):

The passenger of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the hospital on February 22, 2025. Investigators with the Anne Arundel County Police Crash Reconstruction Team continue to investigate this incident and will be in consultation with the Office of the State's Attorney regarding any applicable additional charges.

Northern District

Shooting (Contact) - Brooklyn Park

On February 22, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of 4th Street and Edison Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the 22-year-old male victim and immediately began administering first aid. The victim was transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Western District

Robbery (Citizen) - Severn

On February 23, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded for a strong-arm robbery of a citizen in the 1700 block of Meade Village Circle in Severn. A male victim reported he was assaulted by several black male suspects dressed in dark clothing.  The suspects stole the victim’s wallet before fleeing on foot.
