Robbery (Citizen) - Ferndale

On February 8, 2023, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery that occurred in the unit block of Forestdale Avenue in Glen Burnie. The victim told officers that a car followed him as he drove onto his dead-end street. As he exited his vehicle in his driveway, a male suspect exited the suspect vehicle, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect took a gold necklace from the victim's neck. The suspect shot two rounds in the air and fled the scene in a vehicle. No physical injuries or property damage were reported due to this incident. Homicide - Laurel (Update - 2/13/2023) 23-704880
On February 8, 2023, at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers responded for a report of a shooting that had just occurred in the 3500 block of Russett Green East in Laurel. The witness indicated that an adult male had been shot, and the suspect, described as an adult black male (no further description), fled in a dark-colored sedan towards Laurel Fort Meade Road. When officers arrived, they located the victim on the sidewalk suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Homicide detectives arrived and learned of a potential connection between the victim and the suspect and determined this to be a targeted incident, not a random act of violence. The release of the victim’s identity is pending notification to next-of-kin.

The victim in this case has been identified as 32-year-old Antwaun D. Conyers of New Carrollton, Maryland. Homicide detectives are still actively investigating the incident. Any additional information will be released when available.
Homicide detectives continued to develop leads and examine gathered evidence. Through investigative means, one of the involved suspects was located and taken into custody without incident. During the course of their investigation, homicide detectives identified Christopher Rojas as a suspect in the shooting death of Antwaun D. Conyers. There is an active warrant on file for the arrest of Christopher Rojas for the murder of Antwaun Conyers, and detectives are working to locate him.
