Burglary (Home Invasion) - Brooklyn

On January 11, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded for a home invasion in the 900 block of Victory Avenue in Brooklyn. A black male suspect wearing all black clothing entered the residence through a basement window, threatened the 33-year-old female victim, and demanded money. When the victim did not hand any money over, the suspect struck the victim with a handgun, took her phone, and fled the residence in an unknown direction. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Northern District detectives are investigating and are asking anyone with information to call 410-222-6135. Carjacking - Severn

On January 10, 2024, at approximately 7:55 p.m., officers responded for an armed carjacking at Kohl’s located at 418 George Clauss Boulevard in Severn. The adult female victim was sitting in her vehicle, a 2020 black Nissan Altima, when four unknown males arrived in a vehicle. One of the males approached the victim’s vehicle, displayed a handgun, and told the victim to get out of her car. The suspect fled in the victim’s 2020 Nissan Altima. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Criminal Investigation
Inmate Narcotics Smuggling- Annapolis

From December 2023 to January 2024, the Anne Arundel County Police Criminal Gangs Unit, in coordination with members of the Anne Arundel County Detention Facilities, began investigating three inmates who were incarcerated within the Anne Arundel County Detention Facility. Through investigation, several full and partial strips of suboxone were recovered. Each inmate was charged accordingly.
This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Maryland State Police, Anne Arundel County Police Department, and Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services (GOCPYVS) provides grant funding and strategic support to MCIN member sites to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal organizations through inter-agency collaboration and data sharing to make Maryland safer.
