Northern District
Recovered Stolen Auto - Glen Burnie

On January 17, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers attempted to stop a speeding vehicle in the area of Dorsey Road and Central Avenue in Glen Burnie. The vehicle fled, and due to the reckless and negligent manner in which it was fleeing, attempts to stop it were discontinued. Within minutes a 911 call was received for a motor vehicle collision near 8th Avenue and Mae Wagner Lane. Witnesses observed the driver of the vehicle flee on foot. Officers learned that the vehicle was reported stolen the day prior. A perimeter was established, and with the assistance of K-9 officers, the driver was located hiding in a nearby wooded area and taken into custody without incident. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

Shooting (Non-contact) - Glen Burnie

On January 16, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded for a report of gunshots heard in the 8000 block of Green Orchard Drive in Glen Burnie. Responding officers located several shell casings at the rear of the residence. No injuries or damage to property were reported as a result of this incident. Commercial Robbery - Laurel

On January 16, 2023, just after midnight, officers responded for a commercial holdup alarm that was triggered at the 7-Eleven, 3393 Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel. Upon arrival, employees reported that the business had been robbed at gunpoint. Officers learned that the suspect entered the business brandishing a handgun. The suspect demanded money and fled the store across Laurel Fort Meade Road. CID detectives responded and assumed the investigation. Suspect: Black male, 25-30 years old, 5’6-5’8, medium build, beard, wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood over a red sweatshirt w/ black writing across the chest, black beanie cap, and black pants.

Commercial Robbery (Strong Arm) - Laurel
23-701899 

On January 16, 2023, at approximately 9:50 a.m., detectives were investigating an earlier robbery at the 7-Eleven located at 3393 Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel when a male suspect entered the business and took merchandise by force, and attempted to flee. The detective immediately apprehended the suspect. Investigation revealed that this was not the same suspect as the one from the previous incident. No weapons were used or displayed during this incident. No injuries were reported. The suspect was charged accordingly.

Weapons Offense - Laurel

On January 16, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation in the area of Russett Green East and Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel. As officers approached the vehicle they were met by the odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment. Officers made contact with the driver, who provided officers with an alias in an attempt to avoid identification. Through investigative means, officers discovered the driver's real identity and that he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun on the driver. According to records, the driver did not possess a concealed carry permit and was legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.
