On January 21, 2020 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers responded to JB Beauty located at 5027 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn for an assault/attempted robbery. Officers learned two black female suspects, (possibly late-teens, early twenties, slim build) entered the establishment and began looking around. After several minutes one of the females suddenly pepper-sprayed the two store clerks, while the other suspect attempted to deploy a "Taser-like" electronic device. During the assault, one of the suspects climbed behind the sales counter and unsuccessfully attempted to steal hair extensions. The employees were then able to force the suspects out of the store. The victims suffered minor injuries from the pepper-spray, but neither had been struck by the electronic device.
