On January 22, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers were on foot patrol in the area of Stillmeadows Drive and Durness Court in Severn when they observed a group of males loitering in an area known for illegal drug distribution. When officers approached the group, two male suspects displayed characteristics of being armed and fled. Both suspects were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. One suspect had a loaded 9mm Glock pistol with fully automatic capability and approximately 20 grams of suspected crack cocaine packaged for distribution. The other was in possession of a loaded Polymer 80 Glock-style handgun with an extended magazine containing 33 rounds. Both suspects are prohibited from possessing firearms. They were arrested and charged accordingly.

On January 22, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a white box truck on Annapolis Road and Disney Road in Severn for a traffic violation. Through investigation, it was determined the suspect had an active warrant. A loaded 9mm handgun was found in the passenger compartment of the truck. The suspect, who is prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested and charged.
