Police Press Release - January 28, 2019

NORTHERN DISTRICT
 
CDS with Intent to Distribute, Brooklyn
 
On January 28 at approximately 0208 hours officers conducted a traffic stop on Church Street near the Baltimore City line. Officers observed plastic baggies containing suspected CDS on the floorboard at the occupant's feet. The occupants were detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
 
The following items were recovered from the vehicle:
25 blue plastic containers containing suspected CDS crack cocaine (approximate weight with packaging 13.31 grams)
19 clear capsules containing suspected CDS heroin (approximate weight with packaging 3.55 grams)
2 baggies containing suspected CDS marijuana (approximate weight with packaging 7.34 grams)
 
After reading the advisement of rights to the vehicle occupants the rear passenger advised that the CDS belonged to him. The subject was arrested and transported to Northern District for processing. A further search was conducted at the station and officers recovered a Oxycodone Hydrochloride pill from his undergarments.
 
Charged:
Boyd, Steven Brian 19-year-old
500 block of Annabel Ave, Baltimore
 
Boyd was charged with the following:  
Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine,
Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute Heroin,
Possession of CDS Crack Cocaine,
Possession of CDS Heroin,
Possession of CDS Oxycodone Hydrochloride,
Possession of CDS Marijuana under 10 grams. 
The total approximate street value of the CDS is $616.80.
 
Robbery (Citizen), Brooklyn
 
On January 26 at approximately 0648 hours, officers responded to the 400 block of Orchard Avenue in Brooklyn for a robbery. The victim reported they were entering their vehicle when three unknown male subjects (NFI) threatened her with bodily harm if she did not give them her vehicle. She complied and the suspects fled the scene. There were no injuries reported.

Suspects:
Three (3) Males, approx. 30 YOA, Average height and weight, wearing dark clothes and masks, unknown race.
 
Serious Injury Crash, Brooklyn
 
On January 26, 2019 at approximately 1:00 pm, officers responded to Belle Grove Road and 1st Avenue for a motor scooter collision.
 
The motor scooter was traveling north on Belle Grove Road when it left the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole head-on. The operator was taken to a local trauma center with life threatening injuries.
 
The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be the driver’s failure to drive within a single lane. There is no indication of excessive speed. Alcohol and drug usage are unknown at this time. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.

100 block of Ferdinand Avenue, Glen Burnie, Maryland
 
Citizen Robbery, Glen Burnie
 
On January 25 at approximately 10:40 p.m. hours, officers responded to the 7600 block of B&A Boulevard in Glen Burnie for a robbery of a citizen. The victim was a business owner leaving for the night. Once in his vehicle, he was approached by a suspect who demanded money. The suspect struck the victim with a baton type weapon and physical struggle continued to ensue throughout the parking lot. A witness on scene broke up the altercation and the suspect fled the scene with property belonging to the victim. The victim suffered minor injuries.
 
Suspect:
White male, approximately 5'10, 150lbs, and is described as being "young"
 
WESTERN DISTRICT
 
Robbery, Crofton
 
On January 25 at approximately 6 p.m. officers responded to the 2500 block of Conway Road for a robbery. The victim stated they were leaving a business when a male approached her from behind and grabbed her purse. The victim struggled with the suspect and retained the purse. The victim sustained minor injuries during the struggle and the suspect fled the scene.
 
Suspect: Black Male, 25-30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, black scarf on head, black jacket, blue jeans
 
Citizen Robbery (Arrest), Crofton
 
On January 25 at approximately 9 p.m. officers responded to the 2300 block of Brandermill Boulevard in Crofton for a robbery of a citizen. A teenager was leaving an establishment when he was approached by a male with a gun demanding his cell phone. The victim complied and the suspect fled. The suspect was located a short time later in possession of a replica handgun. The suspect was a juvenile charged as an adult. (Believed to be unrelated to above Crofton robbery)
