Homicide - Brooklyn

On June 29, 2024, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Northern District officers responded to the intersection of Route 2 North and Orchard Avenue in Brooklyn for what was originally dispatched as a motor vehicle collision involving injuries.
Upon arrival, officers located 34-year-old Joshua Ray Holland of Curtis Bay, MD, who was determined to be suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported to Shock Trauma and ultimately died from his injuries. Preliminary information from witnesses indicates a vehicle suddenly stopped at the intersection and an adult male fell out of the driver's side front door. The vehicle then fled the area. Officers later located the vehicle in the area of Old Riverside Road near Arundel Road.

Armed Robbery (Citizen) - Laurel

On June 30, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of the Walmart store located in the 3500 block of Russett Green East in Laurel for a report of an armed citizen robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned the adult male victim was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects in the parking lot. The suspects took his money and personal items and fled the area in a vehicle. Suspects: Three black males armed with handguns. Two suspects were wearing ski masks with black clothing.

Armed Robbery (Citizen) - Severn

On June 30, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the 8300 block of Timberlake Court in Severn for a report of an armed robbery of a citizen. Upon arrival, officers learned the adult male victim was walking in the area when he was approached by two suspects. One suspect produced a handgun, took personal items from the victim and fled on foot with the second suspect. Suspects: Two black males in their teens wearing khaki shorts. One suspect was shirtless and the other suspect was wearing a gray shirt and a blue head wrap.

Robbery (Commercial) - Hanover

On June 29, 2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the Exxon on Ridge Road in Hanover for a report of a robbery of the business. Upon arrival, officers learned two suspects jumped over the counter, struggled with the clerk and took items from the store. The suspects fled on foot across Ridge Road with a third suspect. K-9 and patrol canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
