On July 10, 2021 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Northern District officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2007 Hyundai Sonata in the area of Ritchie Highway and 7th Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the occupants the officers received information which led to a search of the vehicle. The search resulted in the seizure of 8.79 grams of suspected crack cocaine in 31 small individual packages, one plastic bag containing 2.16 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 3.11 grams of suspected marijuana and a digital scale. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged.

On July 11, 2021 at approximately 2:20 p.m. Western District officers conducted a traffic stop on a black 2008 Chevrolet Malibu in the area of Annapolis Road and 21 ½ Street in Severn. Upon making contact with the driver officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The investigation resulted in the seizure of four capsules of suspected MDMA, marijuana, four packets of suspected THC edibles, and a loaded Ruger “Mark I” .22 LR handgun with an obliterated serial number. The driver and passenger were arrested and charged.

On July 9, 2021 at approximately 8:15 p.m. Eastern District officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Lincoln sedan in the area of Crainmont Drive and Crain highway in Glen Burnie. Upon making contact with the driver officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search resulted in the seizure of 142 grams of suspected marijuana and a digital scale, from the passenger’s possession. The passenger was arrested and charged.

On July 10, 2021 at approximately 6:20 p.m. Western District officers conducted a traffic stop on a white 1999 Acura TL in the area of Jacobs Road and Reece Road in Severn. Upon speaking with the vehicle occupants the officer received information which led to a search of the vehicle. The search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a Smith & Wesson revolver, suspected fentanyl and CDS paraphernalia. The juvenile passenger was taken into custody. Officers determined the identity of the driver and filed for charges. The officer was not injured as a result of the assault.

On July 11, 2021 at approximately 3:45 a.m. Western District officers responded for a report of gunshots heard in the area of Pioneer Drive and Richfield Drive in Severn. Witnesses reported seeing three males running from the area on Pioneer Drive. Responding officers located two of the subjects. One of the subjects had a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The other subject was found to be in possession of a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun. It appears that these two subjects are acquainted with each other. Officers rendered medical aid to the injured subject and placed the armed subject into custody. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Information revealed the gunshots were fired by suspects in an unknown vehicle. Officers located the scene and recovered numerous shell casings in the roadway. On July 9, 2021 at approximately 12:20 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop of a silver 2008 Honda Accord in the area of Pioneer Drive and Richfield Drive in Severn. Upon stopping his vehicle, the driver attempted to flee on foot. He was apprehended and found to be in possession of 77.85 grams of suspected marijuana. The passenger was taken into custody and also found to be in possession of 14.75 grams of suspected marijuana. Digital scales and other paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Both suspects were arrested and charged.
