Northern District

Commercial Robbery (Attempt) – Glen Burnie

On July 18, 2022, at approximately 9:45 p.m. officers responded for a report of an attempted robbery that just occurred at the American Food Mart and Gas Station located at 5502 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The employee stated that a black male entered the store and demanded a specific tobacco product. The employee recognized the man as a suspect from a prior shoplifting and refused to provide him with the product. The suspect displayed a knife and threatened the employee before fleeing the store on foot in an unknown direction. Black male, 5’10”-6’0”, medium to slim build, close-cut hair, wearing a black jacket and black pants


 

Eastern District

CDS Violation - Glen Burnie

On July 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of a CDS violation at the Southgate Apartments in the 300 block of Highland Drive in Glen Burnie. Officers were contacted by deputies from the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office who were serving an arrest warrant. During the service of the warrant, deputies located a grow operation in the living room of the apartment. Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and located approximately ten marijuana plants, 88 grams of cultivated marijuana, and one shotgun with ammunition. During the course of their investigation, officers learned that the resident was prohibited from possessing a firearm. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Commercial Burglary - Glen Burnie

On July 18, 2022, at approximately 7:00 a.m., officers responded for a report of a burglary that was just discovered at Didlake and Company, located at 7422 Zachary Lane in Glen Burnie. Officers learned that over the weekend, approximately $10k in landscaping equipment was missing from a trailer and a shed on the property. Locks were removed from the shed and trailer where the equipment was located. Southern District

Weapons Offense - Annapolis

22-725206 

 

On July 18, 2022, at approximately 5:00 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment and registration violations in the area of West Street and Admiral Drive in Annapolis. Upon making contact with the driver, officers detected the odor of suspected marijuana emanating from the inside of the vehicle. The driver acknowledged that he had marijuana and a handgun inside a backpack on the front passenger seat. The backpack was recovered by the officer, who found approximately 6 grams of suspected marijuana and a .40 caliber handgun. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the driver was prohibited from possessing a firearm. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.
