Homicide (Arrest Update) - Severn
On Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at approximately 11:24 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of Hawk Court in Severn for a suspicious death. Upon arrival the reporting person found his 29 year old adult daughter, Jasmine Sherel Adams, deceased in the basement of her residence.
Homicide detectives responded and believe the victim suffered trauma to her upper body and was the victim of an apparent homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2018 to determine the exact cause of death.
At this time preliminary information suggests this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence. Update (8/17/18)
An autopsy was completed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) on August 16, 2018. The OCME ruled Ms. Adams’ cause of death as numerous sharp force injuries to upper body with the manner being homicide.
Detectives are actively pursuing multiple leads in this fluid and ongoing investigation. Arrest Update (7/2/2019)
Anne Arundel County Police Homicide detectives began investigating; and numerous pieces of evidence were recovered from the crime scene by our Evidence Collection Unit. Evidence was forensically examined by our crime lab resulting in DNA profiles of individuals. Based on this information, detectives were able to narrow the focus of their investigation. Over the course of the investigation, detectives executed numerous search warrants on electronic devices, vehicles, residences and individuals; and conducted extensive neighborhood canvasses looking for potential witnesses to this crime. As a result of these efforts, forensic and digital evidence led detectives to the identification of 39-year-old Dominic Richard Sanchez, of Glen Burnie, as the person who murdered Jasmine Sherel Adams. On July 1, 2019, Sanchez was charged on a warrant and served at the Anne Arundel county Detention Center where he is currently incarcerated on a separate offense.

Shots Fired/Glen Burnie
On July 2, 2019 at approximately 7:00 a.m. officers responded to the area of Dark Star Way and Buskin Lane for a police vehicle with its window shot out. An unmarked Anne Arundel County Police vehicle was parked in the area when it was noticed the window was shattered. Upon further investigation evidence of the shooting was recovered. Northern District Detectives are handling the investigation and are asking anyone with any information to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine 410-222-4700. There were no injuries reported in this incident.
