On July 24, 2021 at approximately 6:45 p.m. a Northern District officer conducted a traffic stop on a white 2005 Acura in the area of Ritchie Highway at I-695. The investigation led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of a Palmetto State Armory PX9 AR pistol in a backpack on the front passenger seat. Also inside of the bag was a magazine loaded with five 9mm rounds of ammunition. Officers also located a small amount of suspected marijuana in the center console of the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged.

CDS Violation / Glen Burnie

On July 23, 2021 Northern District officers executed a search and seizure warrant on a residence on the 100 block of New Jersey Avenue in Glen Burnie following an investigation into several complaints of CDS distribution in the area. Two suspects were located inside the residence. The following items were recovered:
- 26 gel capsules containing suspected CDS heroin, 10.99 grams
- 13.37 grams suspected CDS crack-cocaine
- 89 Alprazolam pills
- 8 Oxycodone pills
- 113 gel capsules containing suspected CDS heroin residue
- Digital scale with suspected CDS residue
- $854.00 in U.S. currency

Vehicle Crash; DUI; Assault on Police / Brooklyn Park

On July 25, 2021 at approximately 1:00 a.m. a Northern District patrol officer observed a vehicle traveling north on Ritchie Highway jump the median in the area of 2nd Avenue and come to rest in the southbound lanes. The officer approached the driver and found him to be uncooperative and displaying signs of extreme impairment. As officers were attempting to place the suspect into a patrol vehicle, the suspect kicked one of the officers, head-butted another officer and spat on a third officer. In attempting to restrain the suspect, officers utilized a “WRAP” safe-restraint system to immobilize the suspect, reducing the possibility of injury. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Eastern District
Gunshots Fired; Destruction to Property / Annapolis

On July 25, 2021 at approximately 6:33 a.m., Eastern District officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Bellerive Drive in Annapolis for a destruction to auto. Officers met with the victim who reported two bullet holes in the rear of her Toyota SUV. Upon further investigation officers located several shell casings and a second vehicle with the rear window shot twice. Officers and Evidence Collection Unit personnel located 13 shell casings in the first row of the parking lot along with two unspent rounds of ammunition. Five shell casings were also found in the far corner of the parking lot. A fourth vehicle, a Honda, was located with bullet damage and two shell casings at the rear bumper. A second scene was located where a stray bullet penetrated the third-floor window of a residence in the 600 block of Baystone Court. One spent round was located. Investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence at which time a person of interest was identified and two 9mm handguns and suspected marijuana were seized. This is an open and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be provided as it is received. DUI; Crash Involving Police Vehicles / Pasadena

On July 25, 2021 at approximately 12:35 a.m. officers were in the area of Route 100 at Waterford Road in Pasadena directing traffic due to a fatal motor vehicle crash further down Route 100. A gray Nissan Pathfinder traveling westbound on Route 100 struck one of the unoccupied police vehicles, which had its overhead lights activated. The Pathfinder was traveling at a speed which caused the police vehicle to spin and strike another police vehicle. The officers were able to dive out of the way to avoid being struck and were not injured. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI/DWI as well as additional traffic charges.
