On June 13, 2021 at approximately 10:30 a.m. a Northern District officer conducted a traffic stop on a gold Cadillac in the area of 4th Street and Edison Street in Brooklyn Park. While speaking with the driver the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The investigation resulted in a search of the vehicle leading to the seizure of 34.68 grams of suspected marijuana and 16 containers of suspected cocaine with a weight of 6.21 grams. The driver was arrested and charged.

On June 12, 2021 at approximately 3:45 p.m. officers responded for a fight in progress in the 6700 block of Chesapeake Center Drive in Glen Burnie. Upon speaking with the involved parties and witnesses it was determined there was an altercation between two males inside the Walmart store which continued outside of the store. Once outside, the altercation continued and one of the males stabbed the other with a knife. A witness reported the victim had started the fight by attempting to punch the suspect. Officers detained the suspect and recovered a knife from the suspect’s vehicle. The 35 year old male victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to an upper extremity. The suspect was arrested and charged.

Shoplifting / First Degree Assault / Glen Burnie

On June 12, 2021 at approximately 1:14 p.m. Northern District officers responded to the Home Depot located at 601 E. Ordinance Road in Glen Burnie for a report of an armed subject with a knife. Upon officers’ arrival, employees were actively trying to get the suspect into custody. The subject was placed in custody with the help of officers. It was learned that the subject attempted to shoplift several power tools when he was confronted by employees and citizens. The male then produced a knife and was swinging it at them to keep them away. During the course of the struggle, a citizen who was helping was stabbed in the back of his left shoulder causing a small puncture. The suspect sustained a small cut to his hand (occurred while the citizen was wrestling the knife away). The suspect was provided medical treatment and arrested and charged.

On June 12, 2021 at approximately 11:55 p.m. a Northern District officer conducted a traffic stop on a gray Nissan in the area of Ritchie Highway and 16th Avenue in Brooklyn Park. Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the driver the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The investigation led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of the following items:
- 18 white pills in sandwich bag of suspected Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride (21.84 g)
- 6 glass vials containing suspected Marijuana cigars (148.6 g)
- 1 glass container containing suspected Marijuana Wax (21.84 g)
- 8 packages of suspected Marijuana THC infused gummy edibles (291.30 g)
- 1 package of suspected Marijuana (8.31 g)
The suspect was arrested and charged.
