On June 2, 2020 at approximately 2:30 a.m. officers were patrolling on foot in the Heritage Hill community when they observed an occupied vehicle, a silver Chevy Cruze. Upon checking the vehicle, they observed a handgun within the vehicle. The officers identified the occupant who then fled from the officers on foot. Officers recovered a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun, 1.17 grams of suspected cocaine, 1.82 grams of suspected heroin, and .5 grams of suspected marijuana. Officers obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.

Shots Fired / Friendship

On June 1, 2020 at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers met with Calvert County Deputies who received a report of gunshots fired in the area of Friendship Road and Prout Road in Friendship. Calvert County Deputies observed and stopped the vehicle, a black 2005 Ford Explorer, in their jurisdiction. Their investigation led to the arrest of four vehicle occupants and the recovery of a .38 Special Colt Cobra revolver and a box of ammunition with six rounds missing. Anne Arundel County officers will be seeking the appropriate charges in reference to the discharge of the weapon in Anne Arundel County. No injures were reported and officers did not locate any property damage as a result of this incident. Southern District detectives are investigating this incident and asking anyone with information to contact 410-222-1960.
