On June 18, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery that just occurred at the Sleep Inn located at 6055 Belle Grove Road in Brooklyn. The suspect entered the business with his face covered and aggressively ran toward the employee. The employee fled to another room, where the suspect kicked the door in an attempt to get to her. The suspect then returned to the front desk and removed cash from the register, and fled on foot. The victim did not report any injuries. On June 20, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of Old Jessup Road and Jessup Road in Jessup. Officers located the single-vehicle involved and, during their investigation, discovered that the driver was driving under the influence. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, officers located a loaded handgun. Officers learned that the handgun was reported stolen in Virginia. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.
