Robbery (Citizen) / Hate Crime - Hanover

On June 25, 2023, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of a strong-arm citizen robbery in the 2600 block of Annapolis Road in Hanover. The 18-year-old and 24-year-old victims were walking when they were approached by three males who made comments biased against the victims’ sexual orientation, assaulted them, and stole personal property. The suspects fled in a four-door dark-colored sedan. No weapons were used or displayed during this incident. Both victims received non-life-threatening injuries; one was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Robbery (Commercial) - Annapolis

On June 24, 2023, at approximately 2:10 a.m., officers responded to a hold-up alarm at the CVS at 2601 Riva Road in Annapolis. Two males entered the business and announced a robbery. One of the suspects threatened the employees with a large knife, and the pair then removed a large amount of medication from the pharmacy and took personal property from the employees. The suspects fled in a silver Acura displaying temporary Virginia registration. Officers relayed suspect vehicle information over the radio. An officer observed the suspect vehicle on I-97 near Route 32. Officers stopped the vehicle, and the suspects fled on foot. They were apprehended shortly thereafter and charged.

On June 24, 2023, at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers responded for a vandalism at the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church located at 2747 Riva Road in Annapolis. The complainant reported damage to the landscaping, exterior lighting, exterior signs, and mailbox. First-Degree Assault - Annapolis

On June 24, 2023, at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded for a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle collision in the area of Annapolis Mall Road and Jennifer Road in Annapolis. Investigation revealed that the victim was driving in the area when the suspect vehicle, a gold Toyota Camry with Delaware registration plates, changed lanes and struck her vehicle. The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued to drive away. The victim followed the suspect to a business in the 100 block of Jennifer Road. When the vehicles came to a stop, the male passenger in the suspect vehicle pointed a black handgun at the victim. The suspect vehicle was last seen on Jennifer Road, continuing towards the Anne Arundel Medical Center. Armed Carjacking - Edgewater

On June 24, 2023, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded for a report of an armed carjacking that just occurred in the 300 block of Hamlet Circle in Edgewater. Officers met with the elderly female victim, who advised she was sitting in her vehicle in the driveway of her residence. The victim was approached by three black males and one black female, whom she believed arrived in a white sedan. The suspects began to bang on the victim's windows, and one of the male suspects produced a black handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim got out of the vehicle, and the black female suspect took the victim's purse. The suspects pushed the victim to the ground, got into her vehicle, and fled toward Mitchells Chance Road. The white sedan fled as the suspects fled in the victim's vehicle. The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Officers located the victim's unoccupied vehicle a short time later in the area of Central Avenue and Beards Point Road.
