Attempted Carjacking/Assault - Severn

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of New Cut Road and Grover Road in Severn for a report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, the officers learned that the suspect had stolen a white Dodge Charger and was involved in a minor accident. After the crash, the suspect exited the Dodge, approached a maroon Hyundai Sonata, opened the door, and attempted to force the driver out. The 76-year-old male victim was able to drive away, causing the suspect to return to the stolen Dodge Charger. Workers in the area observed the incident and approached the Dodge Charger to check on the suspect. The suspect swung a knife at the workers but did not strike anyone. The suspect dropped the knife, and one of the workers secured it. Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. Suspected PCP and crack cocaine were recovered from the suspect. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
