On March 19, 2020 at approximately 4:50 a.m. officers responded to the Wawa located at 1029 Generals Highway for an intruder alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect inside the store which is closed for business. Officers established a perimeter and ordered the suspect to exit the building. The suspect failed to comply and the K-9 unit was used to apprehend the suspect. As a result the suspect sustained a minor injury and was treated on-scene by Fire Department personnel. The suspect refused further medical treatment. The suspect was found to be in possession of burglary tools and was attempting to cut copper from inside the building. The suspect was transported to Western District for processing.

Shots Fired / Odenton

On March 18, 2020 at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Pinecove Avenue in Odenton. Upon arrival officers observed several males target shooting in the wooded area between Pinecove Avenue and Commissary Circle. The suspects fled when they saw the officers. Officers were able to detain two of the suspects. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the other suspects. A Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol, a Taurus 9mm pistol and 50 live rounds of 9mm ammunition were found at the location where the suspects were shooting. There were no homes struck in the area or any other damage discovered as a result of the suspects discharging the firearms. Western District detectives are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information to call 410-222-6155 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
