On January 11, 2024, the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit initiated an investigation in reference to a report of a specific account that was directly associated with uploading child pornographic images to a particular internet site. The information was provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization.
As a result of issuing and executing several court orders, detectives identified an address involved with uploading child pornography. On February 2, 2024, detectives executed a residential search warrant at an address in the 700 block of Match Point Drive in Arnold, Maryland. Multiple digital devices were taken into custody and secured so that they could be analyzed. The suspect, identified as Michael Stuart Hislop, a 26-year-old male of the same address, was on scene.
Detectives were able to verify that the digital storage account used to upload the child pornography belonged to Mr. Hislop. Child Abuse detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Stuart Hislop, charging him with 16 counts of possession of child pornography. On March 19, 2024, Michael Hislop was placed under arrest without incident.

Robbery (Citizen) - Glen Burnie

On March 20, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded for a robbery in the area of Newport Road and Stewart Avenue in Glen Burnie. The 18-year-old male victim was sitting on a bench with three individuals who are known to him when one of the males pointed a handgun at him while another pressed what the victim believed to be a handgun against his side. The suspects took money from the victim and fled. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspects.
