Robbery of a Citizen - Brooklyn Park

On May 23, 2002, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers responded for a report of a robbery of a citizen in the 200 block of Camrose Avenue in Brooklyn Park. The suspects assaulted the juvenile victim, took property, and fled on foot. Both suspects were known to the victim and were located a short time later, arrested, and charged accordingly.

Serious Injury Crash (Update) / Glen Burnie

On May 11, 2022, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Northern District officers responded to East Ordnance Road and Blades Lane for a crash involving a commercial vehicle and an off-road dirt bike.
 
A dirt bike with no lighting was westbound on East Ordnance Road, approaching the intersection of Blades Lane. A 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer was eastbound on East Ordnance Road and began the process of making a left turn onto Blades Lane. This section of the roadway is dark with limited street lights. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not see the dirt bike. The dirt bike subsequently struck the right front of the tractor, causing both occupants to be ejected. The rear passenger fled the area on foot. A thermal drone and a police helicopter were used to search the area for the passenger, who was not located.
 
The dirt bike driver, identified as Jeremy Glen Yaruta, 36, of Baltimore, was not wearing a helmet and was severely injured. He was transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The tractor-trailer driver, a 52-year-old male from Baltimore, was not injured.
 
The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
 
Update: On May 23, 2022, the dirt bike driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
