Fatal Crash / Linthicum Heights
On May 28, 2020 at approximately 5:55 am, officers responded to West Nursery Road and River Road in Linthicum Heights for a multi-vehicle crash. A Honda was northbound on West Nursery Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control in a curve and crossed into the southbound lane. The Honda struck an Acura which was approaching in the southbound lane. Both the driver and passenger of the Honda were ejected.
The driver of the Acura was transported to an area hospital serious injuries. The driver of the Honda was transported to an area trauma center life threatening injuries. The passenger of the Honda was pronounced dead on the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel.
Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash appears to be excessive speed and driver error on part of the Honda. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor. The Traffic Safety Section is handling the crash investigation.

On May 27, 2020 at approximately 10:50 p.m. officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a grey Chevy Silverado traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Crain Hwy S and Madison Park Drive in Glen Burnie. The driver initially refused to stop, then abruptly pulled to the curb. The driver was detained and found to be in possession 40 ziplocs of suspected heroin, a loaded Smith & Wesson HP .40 caliber handgun, 15 rounds of ammunition and a large amount of currency. A check of the driver revealed he is prohibited from possessing firearms.
