Shooting (Non-Contact) Arrest Update - Brooklyn

On November 12, 2024, at approximately 4:05 a.m., officers responded for a report of a non-contact shooting in the area of Belle Grove Road and 10th Avenue in Brooklyn. The victim reported that his vehicle was struck by a projectile fired by an occupant of a black SUV operated by a black male in his 20s. The victim stated he had just passed the SUV on Belle Grove Road when he heard a gunshot and the sound of a projectile striking the rear of his vehicle. The victim stopped at a service station and observed damage to his vehicle caused by the gunshot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6135 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
Update (November 14, 2024): Through investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect and the vehicle the suspect was operating during the incident. Detectives located the vehicle at a residence in the 300 block of Riverview Road in Baltimore. A search warrant was executed at the residence, resulting in the arrest of the suspect, 42-year-old Hasan Husain Muhammad, and the seizure of a .357 caliber Ruger handgun and a .38 caliber Ruger handgun. Muhammad is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Motor Vehicle Crash / Stolen Auto / Vehicle Tampering

On November 13, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a Hyundai Sonata and a Toyota Corolla on Crain Highway and Main Chapel Way in Gambrills. Witnesses reported that four subjects got out of the Hyundai and ran from the scene toward the shopping center on Main Chapel Way. Officers determined that the Hyundai had been reported stolen. Responding officers detained three of the suspects after a short foot pursuit. One of the suspects, a 28-year-old female, complained of an illness and was transported to an area hospital by fire department personnel for treatment. Criminal charges are pending for the 28-year-old female. A 27-year-old male, Brown, and a 25-year-old female, Luck, were arrested and charged. Luck had an outstanding arrest warrant. Through investigation, officers determined the identity of the fourth suspect, Grayton. The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old female, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At 6:60 p.m., officers responded for a report of a male and female tampering with vehicles in a parking lot in the 900 block of Waugh Chapel Way. Upon arrival, officers observed a male at the scene who was identified as Grayton, the fourth outstanding suspect of the earlier stolen auto incident. A witness reported that he observed Grayton and a female attempting to pry open the door of a Silver Hyundai Elantra. Grayton was arrested and charged for his involvement in this and the stolen auto case. A 17-year-old female involved in the vehicle tampering was located at the scene and charged.
