Theft From Auto (Arrest)/Brooklyn
 
On October 9, 2019 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers received a call for a tampering with auto in progress. The victim observed a male suspect inside of his vehicle. The victim provided a description of the suspect and said the suspect was going towards Route 2. Several units responded and located a male matching the suspect description at Route 2 & Franklin. The male subject was positively identified as the suspect and several items of evidence were recovered from his person. There were no injuries reported in this incident.

Northern District Fatal Crash/Glen Burnie
 
On October 10, 2019 at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers responded to 8th Avenue Northwest and Grayburn Drive in Glen Burnie for a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. A Chevrolet pick-up truck was eastbound on 8th Avenue Northwest while a pedestrian was crossing across 8th Avenue Northwest in the area of Grayburn Drive. The truck struck the pedestrian in the eastbound lane of 8th Avenue Northwest. The pedestrian was declared deceased on the scene by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The driver of the Chevrolet truck remained on the scene. Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash appears to be pedestrian error; however speed may have also contributed to this crash. There were no signs of impairment on the part of the driver. Drug and alcohol use on the part of the pedestrian will be determined by pending toxicology tests. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation.
