Officer Saves Entangled Deer at Peninsula Park - Annapolis
On Sunday, September 29, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Corporal Sears from the Southern District responded to Peninsula Park on Bay Ridge Road in Annapolis after receiving a report of an injured animal. Upon arrival, Corporal Sears discovered a large buck whose antlers had become entangled in a soccer net at the park. Acting quickly, Corporal Sears used shears to carefully cut the netting and, after a few minutes, successfully freed the deer. The buck appeared unharmed and was safely released back into the surrounding area. The rescue was captured on Corporal Sears' body-worn camera, demonstrating the professionalism and dedication of our officers in handling wildlife-related incidents.
