Theft from Auto (Spree) - Linthicum / Glen Burnie

On October 20, 2023, at 5:50 a.m., officers responded for a theft from an auto at the Holiday Inn Express located at 1510 Aero Drive in Linthicum. Responding officers spotted the suspect, who fled when he saw them. The suspect was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Through investigation, detectives linked this suspect to another theft from the auto that occurred in the early morning hours of October 20, 2023, in the 1700 block of Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights. A laptop computer, backpack, AirPods, and a handgun were stolen by the suspect and later recovered by investigating officers. Further investigation revealed that on October 16, 2023, the same suspect smashed the windows of 20 vehicles to steal property at the Southdale Apartment complex in the 7800 block of Americana Circle in Glen Burnie. The suspect later used stolen credit cards taken in this spree to withdraw money from the victims’ accounts fraudulently. The suspect was charged with 81 offenses, including theft, malicious destruction of property, rogue and vagabond, and handgun violations.

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Brooklyn

On October 21, 2023, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded for a shooting in the 200 block of West Hilltop Road in Brooklyn. Three males were outside of their residence when an occupant of a silver SUV fired at them as the vehicle drove by. The vehicle fled on West Hilltop Road, struck and broke through the I-895 access door at the end of West Hilltop Road, and continued north on I-895. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6135. Handgun Arrest - Glen Burnie

On October 23, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded for a report of several juvenile suspects checking door handles on cars in the area of Elvaton Road and Hidden Brook Drive in Glen Burnie. As officers arrived, they observed a possible suspect vehicle leaving the area. A traffic stop of the vehicle, a red 2009 Subaru, was conducted, and officers observed a handgun in the vehicle. A rear-seat passenger claimed ownership of the handgun and was taken into custody. There were no reports of damage or theft related to the vehicle tampering.
