Homicide - Arnold

On October 30, 2023, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers from the Eastern District were dispatched to the intersection of Kimwood Road and Driftwood Court in Arnold, Maryland, for a vehicle collision. Responding officers located an adult male in the driver’s seat of a black Porsche Cayenne SUV that struck a tree just off the roadway. An unoccupied GMC SUV parked on the roadside appeared to have been hit head-on by the Porsche before the Porsche struck the tree. The driver of the Porsche had an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures in an effort to revive the victim; however, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire department personnel. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Forrest Allen Ryan, of Chester, Maryland.
Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The Evidence Collection Unit was called to process the crime scene, and the victim’s remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Based on evidence in the investigation, detectives believe this to be a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.

Robbery (Commercial) - Linthicum

On October 30, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the Royal Farms store located at 400 Camp Meade Road in Linthicum for a report of a robbery of the business. Upon arrival, officers learned that four suspects had entered the store, and one of them displayed a knife and implied he had a firearm. The suspects then removed money from the register and tobacco products from the store and fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Western District
Robbery (Citizen) - Odenton

On October 30, 2023, at approximately 2:23 p.m., officers responded for a strong-arm robbery of a citizen at the Navy Federal Credit Union located at 1179 Annapolis Road in Odenton. The 32-year-old female victim advised that she was entering her vehicle after using the ATM when three suspects arrived in a black sedan. Two of the three suspects exited the vehicle and approached the victim. One of the suspects punched the victim and took her wallet. The suspects then fled the area in the black sedan. Western District
Non-Contact Shooting / Home Invasion - Crofton
23-740186
On October 30, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded for a home invasion and shooting in the 1700 block of Leisure Way in Crofton. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two male suspects wearing masks forced entry into the victim's residence as he returned home. One of the suspects discharged a firearm as they chased the victim through the house and out the back door. The suspects then fled the scene. No injuries were reported, and no property was taken during the incident.
