Shooting; Destruction of Property / Glen Burnie

On October 6, 2020 at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of Heritage Hills Drive and Lamplighter Ridge in Glen Burnie for multiple 911 calls for gunshots heard in the area. As officers arrived on scene, an additional call was received for a projectile fired into a residence in the 6000 block of Polk Circle. A projectile entered an upstairs front window, continued through two doors and became lodged in an appliance. There were several residents in the home during this incident; no injuries were reported. While officers were checking the area near the residence, officers received a report of a shooting victim who was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers responded to the hospital and spoke with the adult male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his rear torso. The victim was a passenger of a vehicle traveling on Polk Circle near Heritage Hills Drive when he was struck by a projectile. Northern District detectives are investigating this incident and believe the projectile that entered the home may have been a stray round from the shooting incident.
