Shooting (Non-Contact) Shooting - Glen Burnie

On September 9, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded for a non-contact shooting in the area of Mountain Road and Jumpers Hole Road in Glen Burnie. The adult male victim advised that as he turned onto Mountain Road from Catherine Avenue, a light-colored Honda Civic pulled behind his vehicle and began tailgating him with the high beams activated. The victim stated that as he approached Jumpers Hole Road, he moved into the left lane to allow the suspect vehicle to pass. Once the suspect vehicle passed the victim's vehicle, the victim heard a single gunshot and noticed his hatchback window was shattered. The suspect vehicle fled from the area before the officer arrived and was last seen heading toward Route 10. On September 10, 2023, at approximately 4:42 p.m., an officer observed a stolen vehicle on Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn. The officers attempted a traffic stop on a 2008 orange Dodge Avenger at the intersection of southbound Ritchie at 11th Avenue, at which time the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle made a right turn onto Ritchie Highway and then made a quick left onto 8th Avenue and crashed into a street sign. The driver attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by officers. Officers recovered 189 suspected Oxycodone pills, approximately 26.9 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 47.2 grams of suspected marijuana, and $2,025 cash. The driver was arrested and charged.
