Fatal Crash/Millersville
On September 12, 2019 at approximately 08:00 a.m, officers responded to Veterans Highway and St. Anne Lane in Millersville for a crash involving three vehicles. A Toyota was southbound on Veterans Highway just south of St. Anne Lane when, according to witnesses, it drove onto the right shoulder to pass stopped vehicles. The Toyota attempted to re-enter the line of traffic when it struck a Hyundai that was also travelling southbound. After the collision, the Toyota then rotated counterclockwise where it crossed the center line. Once it crossed the center line, it struck a Ford van that was travelling northbound on Veterans Highway. The van came to rest off of the roadway and the Toyota came to rest in the roadway. The driver of the Toyota was transported by ground to an area trauma center where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was not injured. Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash appears to be an unsafe lane change on part of the Toyota’s driver. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation.

Human Trafficking/Linthicum

On September 6, 2019, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Vice Unit detectives located a prostitution advertisement on a website known by detectives to facilitate prostitution and human trafficking. Vice detectives began an investigation which led them to a hotel located in the 1300 block of Winterson Road in Linthicum. At that location, an undercover detective obtained a solicitation for a sex act from an adult female in exchange for money. Additionally, two male suspects, later identified as Saeed Ebrahimnejad and Benjamin Wagner, were observed exiting the hotel and leaving the area in a vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Ebrahimnejad and Wagner had been holding the adult female victim against her will and forcing her to engage in prostitution. Additionally, detectives learned that Ebraimnejad had assaulted the adult female on several occasions.

Detectives located and arrested Ebrahimnejad and Wagner and found both suspects to be in possession of crack cocaine (total weight of 22.81 grams).

A search warrant was executed at the hotel room resulting in the recovery of numerous pieces of evidence including a handgun registered to Ebrahimnejad.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and provided with shelter resources and other services.
