Motor Vehicle Theft / CDS Violation - Glen Burnie

On September 19, 2021, at approximately 9:00 a.m. officers responded to a report of a shed burglary involving the theft of two off-road motorcycles in the 7600 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. While investigating, officers received information that led to a stop of a Chevrolet pickup truck on Holloway road in the area where the burglary occurred. The officers located one of the stolen motorcycles, a green 250 cc Kawasaki, in the truck. Three occupants were arrested and charged. One of the occupants, Young, was found to be in possession of seven capsules of suspected heroin/fentanyl and 34 vials and three capped jars of suspected crack cocaine. The second motorcycle, a 150 cc Kawasaki, has not been recovered. Anyone with any information is asked to call 410-222-6135 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

Weapons Violation - Severn

On September 19, 2021, at approximately 1:55 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a silver 2004 Toyota Corolla on Annapolis Road and 20th Street in Severn. Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the driver, the officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The investigation led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the seizure of a loaded 19mm Glock 17 handgun and a small amount of suspected marijuana. The driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

Tampering with Autos - Severn

On September 17, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m. officers responded for multiple reports of motor vehicle tampering in the 900 block of Reece Road in Severn. The reporting person advised he observed an unknown black male suspect going through unlocked vehicles. Officers located owners of six vehicles who advised their vehicles had been entered and rummaged through. There were no reports of anything stolen. Weapons Violation - Annapolis

On September 20, 2021, at approximately 2:15 a.m. officers responded for a report of an armed subject at the Extended Stay America located at 1 Womack Drive in Annapolis. Officers arrived and located the suspect, who was in possession of a loaded .22 caliber Mossberg 715T rifle, an unloaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson 38 Special, 227 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, and 14 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition. The suspect was found to be prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition and had three open arrest warrants. He was arrested and charged accordingly.

Fatal Crash / Pasadena

On September 20, 2021, at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers responded to eastbound Route 100 west of Catherine Avenue for a reported crash.
The investigation revealed that a 2020 Dodge Caravan was traveling east on Route 100 when it left the roadway and struck several trees that lined the highway. Witnesses reported prior to the crash that the Dodge Caravan was being operated in a negligent manner. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire officials.
Preliminarily, the primary cause of this crash is the driver failing to drive within a single lane. Evidence of CDS usage was found on the scene and toxicology/autopsy results are pending. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
