Life Threatening Injury Crash                                                               Friendship
 
On September 20, 2019 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers responded to Solomon’s Island Road near Friendship Road in Friendship Maryland for a crash involving a motorcycle. A 2015 Kawasaki Ninja was traveling southbound on Solomon’s Island Road approaching the traffic circle at Friendship Road when it failed to negotiate the traffic circle. The Kawasaki struck a raised divider and continued southbound into the traffic circle where the rider was ejected. The motorcycle continued past the traffic circle and came to rest in a grassy area adjacent to the wood line. The rider was transported to an area trauma center with life threatening injuries.
 
Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash was the excessive speed and reckless operation of the motorcycle. It is unknown if drug or alcohol use are factors in this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.

Life Threatening Injury Crash                                                                 Lothian
 
On September 20, 2019 at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to Sands Road near Whittington Drive in Lothian for a single vehicle crash. A 2013 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Sands Road near Whittington Drive when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The Honda left the roadway and struck a telephone pole causing the vehicle to roll, then strike a tree. All occupants were transported to area trauma centers.
 
Preliminarily, the primary cause of the crash is excessive speed. It is believed that alcohol may be a factor in this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.

Fatal Pedestrian Crash                                                                           Glen Burnie
 
On September 21, 2019 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded to Crain Highway and Crainmont Drive in Glen Burnie for a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that a 2013 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Crain Highway at Crainmont Drive as a pedestrian was crossing Crain Highway in an easterly direction from the area of the nearby shopping center. The pedestrian was struck by the Honda. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained on scene.
 
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drug use was a factor in this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation. Anyone who witnessed this crash or has further information is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 410-222-8573.

Shooting                                                                                     Brooklyn Park
 
On September 21, 2019 at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers were dispatched for reports of shots fired in the area of 1st street @ Townsend Avenue in Brooklyn Park. As officers arrived on scene they observed two vehicles leaving the scene onto northbound Ritchie Highway with the windows shot out.
 
Investigation lead officers to an area hospital where they located the vehicle. One of the occupants was found to have sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. A second individual was located and found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine. This second individual (Willis) was arrested and transported to Northern District for processing.
 
Baltimore Police reported a crash at Hanover Street in Baltimore involving two additional gunshot victims from 1st Street and Townsend Avenue. Both victims were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
 
Several officers responded to the scene to conduct a canvass for additional victims and witnesses. the Evidence Collection Unit responded to process the crime scene. No additional victims were located.
