Armed Commercial Robbery / Glen Burnie

On September 22, 2021, at approximately 9 p.m., officers responded to the Family Dollar located at 6320 Ritchie Highway for an armed robbery that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded currency. The employees complied, and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of US Currency. An area canvass was conducted, but the suspect was not located. Robbery Detectives are investigating and asking anyone with any information to call 410-222-4720 or the TipLine at 410-222-4700.

Weapons Violation / Glen Burnie

On September 23, 2021, at approximately 1 a.m., officers were on routine patrol in the area of Oakwood Road and Route 100 when they initiated a traffic stop for multiple equipment violations. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers developed probable cause to search the car. During their search, they located a small amount of marijuana and a Taurus 9mm handgun which was reported stolen from Baltimore City. The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.

Shoplifting (Assault on Police) / Pasadena

On September 22, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the Five Below located at 8036 Ritchie Highway for an assault that just occurred. Upon arrival, they met with an off-duty Anne Arundel County police officer and employees of the store. The off-duty officer was shopping when he noticed four females shoplifting. The officer showed the females his badge and said he was the police. When he did, the four took off running with the merchandise. While attempting to flee, one of the females sprayed the officer with pepper spray. A store manager was able to get a bag of stolen merchandise from one of the females before they fled. The four females got into a silver or grey late model sedan that was waiting outside. The officer was treated by the fire department and released.
