Suspicious Death (UPDATE) / Brooklyn Park
On Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 8:10 a.m. officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the 300 block of Church Street, Baltimore, Maryland for an adult male suffering suspicious injuries. The victim, identified as thirty-five-year-old Bayron Randolfo Calderon Moran from the 300 block of Church Street was transported to a local trauma center. Medical personnel performed life saving measures but Mr. Moran was pronounced deceased. Mr. Moran was be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Anne Arundel County Homicide and Northern District Detectives responded to the scene along with the Evidence Collection Unit. Several witnesses were located and search warrants were executed. Multiple items of evidentiary value were secured and will be processed for further forensic analysis. Preliminary investigation leads investigators to believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence. There is no further information available at this time.

UPDATE (February 22, 2021):
As the witnesses were being interviewed an adult male, who was known to the deceased, was identified as a person of interest in regards to the death of the victim. The adult male was interviewed and provided a statement to detectives concerning the death of Mr. Calderon Moran. As details surrounding the incident were developed, coupled with the matching physical evidence, it appeared Mr. Calderon Moran was involved in an altercation with the adult male. During the assault the adult male attempted to fend off Mr. Calderon Moran which caused the life threatening injuries to him. Investigation has revealed this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.
On Sunday, February 21, 2021 the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on the deceased. Mr. Calderon Moran’s cause of death was sharp force injuries with the manner being homicide. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is working with the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office in reviewing the facts surrounding the death of Mr. Calderon Moran.
