Recycling Center Customers Must Follow CDC Social Distancing and Use Face Coverings
Annapolis, Maryland (June 9, 2020) – In accordance with the most recent State and local orders related to the ongoing Covid-19 State of Emergency, effective immediately Recycling Center customers must practice social distancing and use a face covering while using a Recycling Center. The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works has discontinued its vehicle limit at all three Anne Arundel County Recycling Centers.
During this health emergency, County Recycling Centers should continue to be used by residents who do not have curbside collection services or for items not collected at the curbside that cannot be reasonably stored at home. Similarly, the Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility should be utilized for recycling and disposal of large loads of material only when essential to maintaining sanitary and healthy conditions within the community.
Residents that must visit one of these facilities are asked to be patient, courteous, and plan accordingly. Wait times are still expected due to the number of residents using these facilities, and may exceed one hour at peak times and on Saturdays.
Anne Arundel County’s Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility, and three residential drop-off Recycling Centers in Glen Burnie, Severn, and Deale, Maryland remain open with normal operating hours (Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., excluding county holidays).
