Wait Times Anticipated During Peak Times and Saturdays
Annapolis, Maryland (April 14, 2020) – To further enhance the safety of County residents and employees during the ongoing Covid-19 State of Emergency, the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works has implemented a ten (10) vehicle limit at all three Anne Arundel County Recycling Centers. Effective immediately, only ten (10) vehicles will be permitted to enter and use a facility at any one time. Traffic will be held at each facility’s entrance gate to ensure proper social distancing of persons in accordance with the Center for Disease Control guidelines.
During this health emergency, County Recycling Centers should only be used by residents who do not have curbside collection services or for items not collected at the curbside that cannot be reasonably stored at home for an extended period of time. Similarly, the Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility should be utilized for recycling and disposal of large loads of material only when essential to maintaining sanitary and healthy conditions within the community.
Residents that must visit one of these facilities are asked to be patient, courteous, and plan accordingly. Wait times may exceed one hour at peak times and on Saturdays.
Anne Arundel County’s Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility, and three residential drop-off Recycling Centers in Glen Burnie, Severn, and Deale, Maryland remain open with normal operating hours (Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., excluding county holidays).
