To meet the requirements of the NPDES MS4 permit and improve spawning conditions for Yellow Perch, a portion of Lake Waterford Park has been identified for a stormwater treatment best management practice (BMP). The project proposes to remove an existing unused parking lot and replace it with a Step Pool Storm Conveyance (SPSC). The project is located near the intersection of Baltimore Annapolis Blvd (Rt 648) and Old Mill Rd in Pasadena, MD. BWPR staff will present the goals and plans for the project.

In its existing condition, stormwater from a 30 acre drainage area (8 acres impervious) flows untreated into the headwaters of the Magothy River. The primary goals of this project are to capture and treat stormwater pollution, improve upland habitat in and around the project area, and improve water quality for the Magothy River and Yellow Perch that spawn downstream of the project each spring.
