Bacon Ridge Natural Area Closure Notice

The entrance to the Severn Chapel Road - Bacon Ridge Natural Area is closed for construction. The park remains open! You can access all trails from the Hawkins Road and Bacon Ridge Road trailheads. The Bike Skills Park will remain open and accessible via the trail system. CRRC Grant Application Training Cancelled

Due to inclement weather, the application training scheduled for Monday, January 26th has been cancelled. A recording of a previous FY27 application training is available below. More information about the possible rescheduling of this training will be made available once confirmed.

Detention Facilities - Visitation Cancelled

Due to the impending snow storm across the state of Maryland visitation will be cancelled on Sunday, January 25, 2026 and Monday, January 26, 2026.

Lake Waterford Dredging

Beginning the week of September 22, construction will begin for the Lake Waterford Dredging and Shoreline Enhancement Project. During this period, fishing at Lake Waterford Park will be prohibited, and the small parking lot closest to the dam along Maryland Route 648 (Baltimore - Annapolis Blvd) will be closed. Recreation & Parks - Weather Cancellations

MONDAY, January 26
  • Recreation centers, aquatic centers, child care facilities, athletic fields and sites, and park visitor centers are CLOSED.
  • Ice Rinks are CLOSED.  
  • All events, programs, reservations, and permits are CANCELLED for all parks, recreation centers, aquatic centers, and athletics.
  • Quiet Waters Park, Kinder Farm Park, and Fort Smallwood Park are scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. Please be advised that delays might occur due to icy conditions. All park patrons should take extreme caution when visiting the park due to the snow and ice. 
Change in Service

Route Change Notice

Starting on 2/2, our 202 bus will run on Disney Rd in both directions. The stops on Reece Rd that are west of Pioneer Dr will be removed. Service to Meade Village will continue as normal on the southbound leg.

Due to the continued inclement weather all transportation services will be suspended on Monday January 26th.

Vehicle Identification Stickers at County Recycling Centers

Beginning on January 12th, new 2026 Vehicle Identification Stickers for Facilities Customers will be available at our Northern, Central and Southern Recycling Centers. These stickers will replace those issued between 2024-2025. Old stickers must be removed prior to arrival to be eligible to receive a new sticker. Click here for more information.

Service Disruption

Waste Management - Weather Update 1/26/26

Due to current road conditions within many County neighborhoods, curbside collection of trash, recycling and yard waste will not occur on Tuesday, January 27th.  In the event that road conditions improve, to allow for safe travel by large collection vehicles and their crew, curbside collection will resume on Wednesday, January 28th, under the following schedule:

  • Monday Customers   Wednesday Collection
  • Tuesday Customers   Thursday Collection
  • Thursday Customers   Friday Collection
  • Friday Customers   Saturday Collection
