County Council District 1

Pete Smith is a long-time advocate for District 1 who pledges to serve the residents with vigor and heart. He has two children and lives in Jessup. As a Major in the Marines, he is an Intelligence Officer and the regional coordinator for Toys for Tots in addition to serving on the board of several other community organizations.

About District 1

Nestled in the northwestern part of Anne Arundel County, District 1 encompasses the communities of Brooklyn Park, Jessup, Linthicum, Hanover, Severn, and parts of Fort Meade and Glen Burnie. The district borders Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County and includes Arundel Mills Mall, Maryland Live Casino, NSA, and BWI airport. Community amenities feature Chesapeake Arts Center, North County High School, and the Severn Center (an intergenerational facility with a senior center, Boys and Girls Club, and community space).
