Maryland Department of Natural Resources Enacts Statewide Burn Ban
Effective immediately, The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has imposed a statewide open air burning ban in Maryland as of November 1, 2024. This ban applies to all counties in the state and includes campfires and charcoal grilling. The ban will remain in place until the Maryland Forest Service determines that the state has received enough precipitation to reduce the threat of wildfires.
Overview
Lake Waterford Park has three pavilions available to rent. Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance. The Blue Jay pavilion (100 capacity) is located in the picnic area near the playground. The Goldfinch and Chickadee pavilions (50 capacity) are located near the lake in a more wooded area. Each pavilion has picnic tables and grills. There is no electricity at any of the pavilions at Lake Waterford Park. Lake Waterford Park is an alcohol-free park.
