Overview
The WB&A Trail is a planned, paved recreational trail located in the western portion of Anne Arundel County on the abandoned Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad right of way with a mainline length of approximately 5.7 miles.
In addition to many community connectors, this project includes spurs to multiple key points of interest in the surrounding area. The WB&A Trail will connect to the South Shore Trail in Odenton and subsequently will to tie to other existing and proposed shared use routes in the Odenton Town Center area. When complete, this trail will extend from Odenton to and across the Patuxent River and ultimately connect to an existing rail trail (also WB&A Trail) in Prince George’s County. In addition to the regional benefits this trail provides, the WB&A Trail will link to an interstate route of national significance. The WB&A Trail will connect to the trail network in Prince George’s County which is already designated a critical component of the East Coast Greenway, a national route extending north to south from Maine to Florida and the American Discovery Trail, an east coast to west coast national trail system extending from Cape Henlopen, Delaware to Point Reyes, California.
WB&A Trail is open dawn to dusk.
