On February 3, 2022, the Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities formed a departmental employee Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee for the purposes of reviewing, identifying and recommending equity and inclusion initiatives. The committee serves as resource Ambassadors for the Department of Detention Facilities’ EDI activities.
Mission
To foster a diverse and inclusive work environment for our staff, our arrestees and our community partners by serving as Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities Ambassadors to heighten awareness, build a sense of belonging and promote equity through our policies, services and activities.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Detention Facilities Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee seeks to preserve an atmosphere of unity, acceptance and respect for all staff, the inmate population and the community, ensuring our department functions seamlessly, cohesively and with an earnest sense of morality.
