Sheriff Everett L.Sesker is a proud son of Anne Arundel County. In 1990, Everett joined the Prince George's County Police Department and Served for 22 years.
During his career, Everett worked various assignments while on a path to the rank of Major including Patrol Officer, Sergeant Narcotic Enforcement Division, Special Assignment Sergeant for the Deputy Chief Bureau of Patrol, Shift Commander, Assistant Commander, Press Information Office, Executive Officer for the Deputy Chief, Bureau of Support Services, Commander of the Training and Education Division, Executive Officer for the Deputy Chief, Bureau of Support Services.
After retiring from the Prince George’s County Police Department, Everett was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to be the Executive Director of the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission, where he oversaw the certification for all law enforcement officers in the state of Maryland.
During the past five years, Everett traveled the state of Maryland as a law enforcement consultant for Local Government Insurance Trust, where he provided training and guidance to over 100 Police and Sheriffs agencies.
Sheriff Everett L. Sesker was sworn in on December 6th, 2022 & is now the first African American Sheriff for Anne Arundel County.
