Project Description

Development of Phase 1 of the new Environmental Education center at the Emory Waters Nature Preserve.  The first phase of the project includes cabins for camping, a bathhouse, pavilion and parking. Later phases include a field station building to support research activities, water access facilities, and shoreline protection efforts.

Project Updates

A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 6:00-7:00pm via ZOOM. During the meeting, DPW will discuss construction planned at the Emory Water Nature Preserve of Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, located at 6023 Pindell Road. 


Design work continues. A public meeting on the 30% design was held on November 29, 2022. A copy of the engineer's presentation and other information about that meeting can be found at the links below.

A Public Information Meeting will be held prior to the start of construction.
