On May 8, 2020, the Navy’s BRAC office launched a website dedicated to providing information to the public regarding the former BHRA. The website presents a general history of the facility, a discussion of the environmental investigations, as well as links to the Draft RI and the last 3 Five Year Reviews (5YRs).

The results of the Draft RI indicate that although PFAS were found in the environmental media sampled, it is safe to use Bay Head Road Annex. Sampling results of the nearby residential wells conducted in 2016 showed that PFAS were not present in drinking water. The Navy will perform additional investigations to evaluate PFAS in the environment at BHRA. The Draft RI is currently being reviewed by our regulatory partner, the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), and is available on the website.

For more information related to the investigations, please visit the BHRA website at https://www.bracpmo.navy.mil/brac_bases/northeast/Former_Naval_Surface_Warfare_Center_Annapolis.html.
