Thank you to the Severna Park Voice for covering my current bill that will be an important update to our development code.

In addition to the cluster development bill, I introduced what will likely be my last piece of legislation in my first term, continuing my commitment to improve transparency in the development process.

Bill 82-22 requires the notification of modifications to a development be sent to community associations or organizations that represent neighboring communities. Modifications are requests to be exempt from a certain area of development code if the requirement negatively impacts the design of the project.

Often times it is our community organizations that keep their residents informed of nearby developments. It’s important that they receive critical information throughout the entire process to share with community members.

Land use code is one of the most updated sections of our county code. While it’s not always newsworthy or as exciting as other pieces of legislation, the effects are long lasting and impactful to our growth.
