I had the absolute pleasure of presenting a County Council citation to Mr. Stojakovich “Mr. S” at his final Spring Concert at Magothy River Middle School, where he has taught for the last 11 years. If you have experienced a music program led by Mr. S, you know he sets the bar high, and the kids put in the work because of his dedication to them and their musical success. The citation read: “In recognition of your dedication to sharing your love of music with students throughout the county for 38 years; your successful style of teaching has brought enthusiastic energy to the band and orchestra learning experience, inspiring young musicians to excel, and resulting in award winning performances spanning three decades; the County Council is grateful for your service, and wishes you congratulations and best wishes for a well-deserved retirement.” The boosters organization put together a wonderful celebration, complete with a variety of pins with some of Mr. S’ most popular quotes! You will be missed Mr. S, but the lessons you have taught your students will continue and so will your legacy.
