Annapolis, MD (August 6, 2021) Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman announced the launch of a new portal to solicit project abstracts from residents, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders for American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding proposals. This follows a community survey on potential uses for ARP funding that closed on July 27 after garnering more than 1,200 responses.
“We want to see residents, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders provide project abstract proposals for this funding,” County Executive Steuart Pittman said. “I want to thank all those who submit proposals in the coming weeks for helping us find ways to continue to address the health and economic impacts of the pandemic.”
The portal, located at https://www.aacounty.org/ProjectAbstractPortal, is an opportunity to provide project abstract proposals for ARP funding. The portal will be open for submissions through September 30, 2021. The County’s ARP funding community survey identified interest in investing in health and human service resources, improved public infrastructure, passion for outdoor spaces, and continued commitment to public safety programs.
“This is the next important step for aligning community priorities with the County Executive’s strategy for a strong and equitable recovery through promoting health and wellness and implementing smart growth,” Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Health And Human Services Pam Jordan said.
Anne Arundel County will receive a total of $112,509,414 in direct appropriations from the US Treasury. The county received $56,254,707 on May 19, 2021 and will receive the balance in May, 2022. All funds must be spent by December 31, 2024.
