Annapolis, MD (August 29, 2024) - County Executive Steuart Pittman announced the mid-September departure of Chief of Staff Jeff Amoros, and named current Deputy Chief of Staff Jenny Proebstle as the administration’s new chief of staff. Proebstle’s promotion will take effect Monday, Sept. 16.

“Jeff Amoros has served our team with a level of professionalism, creativity, and compassion that we all seek in our leaders. I will forever be indebted to him for his service,” said County Executive Pittman. “Jenny Proebstle has demonstrated during the last six years a keen understanding of what this administration stands for and what we seek to accomplish. She has often led for us without being noticed, and I am confident that she is the right person to lead us through to the end of our term.”

Proebstle joined County Executive Pittman’s administration in April, 2019, and has served in a variety of roles on the County Executive’s communications, policy, and leadership teams.

As the lead digital content creator for the administration, she has led communications initiatives on key legislative initiatives, including forest conservation, Plan2040, and the county budget. She played a key role in the county's public outreach and rapid response efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and has worked closely with County agencies to coordinate events and community engagement efforts.

Ms. Proebstle is a graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel’s Flagship Program (FLG24) and of the National Association of Counties High-Performance Leadership Academy. She was born and raised in Anne Arundel County and continues to reside in the county today.

Amoros, who joined the administration as the County Executive’s Communications Director in April, 2021, has served as Chief of Staff since the beginning of the County Executive’s second term in December, 2022. He previously held a variety of roles in Baltimore City government, and has also advised and run state and local political campaigns.
