Anne Arundel is proud to be recertified as a StormReady community as of 2024. StormReady is a nationwide program that helps jurisdictions better protect their residents during severe weather by improving communications and preparedness. The program encourages a proactive approach to improving local hazardous weather operations by using public alert systems, ensuring continuous monitoring through 911 dispatch and the Emergency Operations Center, and providing education through training on public readiness.
