BGE is urging customers to remain alert for scammers that may attempt to con utility customers during the pandemic. In recent weeks, we’ve received complaints regarding scams where customer have received non-BGE robo-calls asking customers to pay immediately to avoid service termination.
This is not BGE’s practice; and we do not ask customers to make payments with pre-paid debit cards, gift cards or any form of cryptocurrency, which has been demanded by scammers.
